Make it a Blockbuster night! London Betty, (2009) (NR) was a popular title on the shelves at Blockbuster Video from 2010 and right up until the end of the franchise the title remained on the new release wall throughout the U.S. It was an ultra-low budget, edgy Indie film adventure that managed to get national distribution and win some awards. It is the story about a band of rapscallion thieves who raid the mayor’s mansion in search of “treasure”.

VHS Massacre is now offering for the first time the 4K director’s cut (Raiders of Suburbia Edition) for free on our channel! The film is narrated by Clint Howard and Features Daniel Von Bargen (Seinfeld), Broadway star Nicole Lewis, Margaret Rose Champagne (Amy Schumer Show), Phil Hall (Mark of the Beast), Dick Boland (Diane), Russ Russo (Land of College Prophets), Rachael Robbins, Sheri Lynn and many others! Directed by Tom Seymour.

“This was the most elaborate feature-length, narrative film production I ever created. It never did propel me to the next level as a film director, some of that perhaps had to do with the aftermath of the great recession and the end of the video store era. Years later when the VHS Massacre films reached a large audience I was able to truly make a name for myself. In some ways for me, London Betty still remains as an artifact of what could have been, in regard to my film career. A last attempt at mainstream filmmaking if you will.  As a long time admirer of Lloyd Kaufman as a director. I think this is similar to how he felt about Troma’s War. People did see it, some liked it, but it lost money and other films of his are much more popular. This director’s cut is a tighter edit, more focused with some of the hard edges removed. At its core it’s about a group of misfit friends and large forces that plot against them. Thanks to everyone involved.”
